The Iron Wok Chef Lin Cong, a master culinary artisan, launches a business alongside his partner Zhao Kai, jointly building a hugely popular food and beverage brand. Just as tens of millions in financing is finalized and the brand is poised for expansion, Zhao Kai, eager for rapid capitalization, insists on shifting to a **chef-free prefabricated food model**. He claims handmade stir-frying is inefficient and yields slim profit margins. After their philosophies irreparably split, Zhao Kai hatches a scheme to alter the equity agreement, scheming to oust founder Lin Cong without a penny to his name. Lin Cong leaves with nothing but an old iron wok that has accompanied him for decades. He settles on an unfinished commercial street brimming with grassroots vitality and sets up an unnamed open-air food stall. Upholding the original aspiration of a chef, he works wonders with his cooking skills. Scraps of meat, bone fragments and vegetable trimmings discarded by others are transformed into stunning street delicacies under his flame-wrought stir-frying. His former partner Zhao Kai fears Lin Cong’s growing reputation and uses capital leverage to suppress him relentlessly: cutting off his ingredient supply chain, hiring online trolls to spread malicious rumours about hygiene issues, sending rival vendors to provoke and stage disputes, and diverting customers with cheap prefabricated dishes.
