Because of a childhood competition, the girl Lin Ge was recommended by the boy Nie Chi to enter a sports school and begin her short track speed skating career. Lin Ge is optimistic and bold, with a rough yet thoughtful nature, while Nie Chi is steady, sharp, and full of ideals. Under the care of their coach Fang Shizhong, who is like a father figure, they grow and advance to the provincial team together with Fang's son, Fang Chao. Lin Ge struggles with an irregular training schedule and weak fundamentals due to her complex, male-preference family environment; meanwhile, Nie Chi, because of his straightforward and aloof personality, finds it difficult to adapt to team-based tactical training.
