This anime is a conspiracy theorists wet dream because in Dandadan it really seems like practically any conspiracy theory or weird internet theory you can think of is actually true. In this anime that’s going through a series of World Premieres everywhere leading up to the Netflix release, not only are ALIENS real and REAL weird, but so are Yokai or Spirits and Ghosts, who as a society all have their own unique powers, hierarchy and place in this world. Beyond these two main groups there’s also the existence of UMAS which are basically cryptids or those strange creatures people claim to see sometimes which may or may not exist like Bigfoot, but I think one of the funnest parts of this series is just HUNTING for the different internet memes or creepypastas that they try to sneak in, like HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN IN YOUR DREAMS, which was a viral internet story and image that we can see literally used 1 to 1 in the series to creepy effect, so I guess on the list of Anime Universes I wouldn’t want to live in, I have to think about where exactly I’d put this one on the list, because MAYBE it’s not so bad, but at the same time MAYBE it’s far worse than you could ever know depending on WHICH legends and stories are true, and which entities whether they’re spiritual, from earth, or even other realities also happen to exist within the universe of this show.
