Eight new micro-dramas to start in October
A Chilean TV network films a family mystery for phones, and a Hindi couple’s home loan falls through in episode six.
Aman Jaiswal forgot to get the inverter fixed, so the first dinner in Tera Ghar Mera Ghar happens by candlelight. His wife, Asha, has made sushi. He gives it seven out of ten for taste and eleven for effort. Before the episode ends, a phone call tells him that his grandmother has left him a plot of land back in Kanpur. By episode six, the loan to build on it has been turned down, and none of those six episodes runs longer than three minutes.
That speed is the whole idea of a micro-drama. A story is cut into episodes of one to three minutes, shot upright for a phone, and nearly every episode ends on a hook. The research firm Omdia estimates the format brought in $11 billion worldwide in 2025, most of it in China. Apps such as ReelShort and DramaBox charge by the episode.
On YouTube, the same kind of story costs nothing. We went through the series that started there since the end of August and chose eight, each in a different language. All of them play free on ShortFlix, streamed from the creators’ own YouTube channels.
Tera Ghar Mera Ghar

The rest of the series is about that house. Episode two is their anniversary. In episode three, Aman’s new savings plan is tested by a parcel at the door, and by episode four there is a baby on the way. Then Baby Bua, an aunt, announces a visit, and the couple wait to find out how much she already knows.
The first episode also slips in a JK Super Cement slogan, which may explain why the plot is about building a house. It still plays as a family sitcom first, and that makes a nice change in a genre full of secret billionaires.
Madre de Familia

Leonora Altamirano’s three grown children have not spoken to each other in years. A message brings them to her house in the woods, and Víctor, who works for her, admits that he sent it: Leonora has been missing for a week. The episode opens with her voice, though: “hoy voy a descubrir si crié héroes o demonios” (today I will find out whether I raised heroes or demons). The first episode is called “Una desaparición falsa”, a fake disappearance. This is a test, and the fun is in watching Esteban, Mauricia and Gaspar take it.
Canal 13, one of Chile’s biggest broadcasters, has made these vertical “mininovelas” since 2025, and this one keeps the telenovela’s taste for money fights. Episode four is called “Los problemas de plata se solucionan con plata”: money problems are solved with money.
Paarumma Natta Paarothila

A young woman’s wedding has been called off twice, and her neighbours have settled on a reason: a flaw in her horoscope. The rule they quote is exact. A girl born under the Karimpooradam star may only marry a man born under Ayilyam, and if the stars are against her, someone in the family dies at the wedding, or the husband dies after it.
Rithin Rajesh wrote and directed it, and he does not take any of this seriously. One man in the first episode has his own proof: an astrologer told him he would not live past 40. He is 42, and the astrologer died two years ago. This is the newest series on the list.
Ex Why

Karthick and Mithra are doing fine until his ex, Varsha, walks back into his life. After that, the episode titles do the plot summary for you (“Ex Wants Him Back”, “Pregnancy Panic!”). The channel sells it on “love, laughs, jealousy”, in that order. It is the only finished series here, so you can see the whole thing over lunch. Salman, Jishma and Keerthana star.
Nuvvu Nenu Mana Prema

Arjun and Deepthi grew up next door to each other and still behave like it. The first episode starts with an argument over a shirt that she has taken and has no plans to return. Before long, someone suggests that marrying the two of them off would settle the matter for good. It is a best-friends-to-lovers story, and the bickering is the point.
Harano Sindoor

Sindoor is the red powder a married woman wears in the parting of her hair, and the title means “lost sindoor”. On their wedding night, Vedant tells Samaira that he is a navy officer leaving on a two-year secret mission. So that neither of them gets attached, he says, they should not see each other’s faces. She turns down his offer of a room in his mansion because she has found a job. When he comes back, she has no idea who he is.
You will either accept that in the first minute or you won’t. If you do, a schemer called Adira has put Samaira in danger by episode five.
Jivalaga

Pranit Kalokhe, who describes himself as an aspiring actor, made this one on his vlog channel for Ganeshotsav. The family is putting up torans and digging out boxes of decorations for Ganapati while a song plays over the work. The love story comes out in their small talk. When someone asks Pranit whether they decorate like this in America, the answer is that people install Ganpati there too now. At about a minute an episode, the whole series takes less time than the decorations.
The Billionaire Cleaner

The title gives the twist away, and the show doesn’t wait long either. Chidi starts work as a cleaner in a wealthy house, and nearly everyone he meets in the first episode tells him, one way or another, to know his place. He says “Yes, sir” and keeps cleaning. Then, alone, he takes a phone call about a meeting and says that nobody must know who he is.
Secret billionaires are one of the most crowded corners of the genre. This one at least lets you in on the secret from the start. EverAfter Studios posts new episodes every week.
Seven of the eight are still adding episodes, so most of this list will be longer by November. Canal 13 has promised a new mininovela every month until December.

Every series here started on YouTube between 31 August and 11 October 2026, in a language that ShortFlix serves. We left out dubbed versions and series made with AI, and took one pick per language. ShortFlix lists 2,358 micro-dramas from 612 channels. For this list, we did not count views at all. Episodes play from each creator’s own YouTube channel.
