Ya llegó a quien estábamos esperando (the one we were waiting for is here)

Five Spanish micro-dramas from five channels, from a school where you find your soulmate by the colour of your clothes to a Venezuelan crime serial.

A daughter comes home from a trip, and her mother greets her as the one they were all waiting for. Was it her they were waiting for, the daughter asks, or what she brought? Then she goes off to sleep: the presents can wait until she has slept a lot. Her sister complains that she could at least have left the little suitcase for them to open, and their cousin, who was so excited, has gone. Their mother admits it: whenever this daughter visits, she brings gifts. That is the first episode of Hay gente más interesada que interesante, and it runs one minute.

The title is a play on words: some people are more self-interested (interesada) than interesting (interesante). Most Spanish micro-dramas on ShortFlix work this way, with a small sin at home, at work or in a shop and the moral in the title. Three channels, Christopher Martínez, Linis Florez and Mila Reflexiones, made 137 of the 219 we list. Their titles give away the plot or the moral before you press play, and most of their series come in one-minute parts. If you grew up with La rosa de Guadalupe, Televisa’s anthology of self-contained stories that each end on a moral, you know the structure. On ShortFlix, the telenovela proper comes from Canal 13 in Chile, whose mininovelas our creators guide covers.

We chose five series from five channels, each made in Spanish by the channel that posts it. They run in order of episode length, from half a minute to three or four. We left out Reflexiones de Vida’s El jefe se entera de la verdad y reacciona así, in which a boss demands to know which of three employees is pregnant: the doctor’s story below is the same one-minute ambush, with a secret added.

Color Alma gemela

In this school, you find your soulmate by wearing his favourite colour. Hers is black. Her mother wants to know why she isn’t dressed in it, and she answers that she doesn’t care about finding a husband. A friend has already found hers: same colour, collision in the corridor. Then the prince invites the whole school to a party, dress code your soulmate’s colour, because he wants to find his. She hates black. By the end of the first episode she is wearing it.

It is Cinderella’s ball with a colour chart instead of a slipper. Episode 1 runs 57 seconds and the other ten 21 to 36. Take it for a fairy tale over coffee; skip it if you came for lessons.

Doctora examina a la amante de su esposo sin que ella se entere

Spanish · Mila Reflexiones · 18 episodes, just under a minute each · started 18 September 2024

The title (A doctor examines her husband’s lover without her finding out) gives away everything except the examination. Belén Ramírez comes in tired, dizzy and queasy in the mornings, which any telenovela viewer could diagnose from the sofa. The doctor asks whether she is sleeping with someone. Belén asks her to say that again, and she does.

Here the hidden identity belongs to the wife, and her cover is her job: the patient tells her everything because she is the doctor. On premise, it mirrors Canal 13’s Mira de quién te burlaste, where a woman faces a man who has not recognised her after 15 years. Anyone who wants the confrontation at once will mind that the 56-second first episode gets no further than the question.

Hay gente más interesada que interesante

Spanish · Christopher Martínez · 17 episodes, a minute each · started 27 December 2023

The family’s greed is the joke, and the daughter is in on it: she knows why they are pleased to see her, and she makes them wait. No channel made more of the Spanish series we list than Christopher Martínez. Several of his titles are proverbs, Hoy por mi, mañana por ti among them. Others are set in the colmado, the Dominican corner shop, where one shopkeeper charges a kiss per errand.

A minute of waiting for a suitcase to be opened is either the whole joke or too little of one, with 16 parts to go.

Joven millonaria le pide a un hombre pobre que sea su esposo por tres días

Spanish · Linis Florez · 12 episodes, a minute each · started 10 October 2024

Vanessa is hiring a husband for three days (the title: A young millionaire asks a poor man to be her husband for three days), and the job is hard to fill. The first man wants to know if she has a screw loose and suggests an asylum. The second would do it for nothing, for life, and asks when they start; she sends him away too. She is ready to give up when her friend reminds her that they still have time, and points at another candidate. The episode ends as she takes in the next candidate, a potato seller.

It is a contract marriage told from the hiring side. Linis Florez, whose job-interview story was on our one-sitting list, has run the deal the other way too: in Millonario le pide a su empleada que sea su esposa de mentira, a rich man asks his employee to be his pretend wife. Romance fans will wait: the groom is still unhired after a minute.

Amigos o Enemigos

Spanish · DesdeCua · 30 episodes, most of them three to four minutes · started 30 August 2025

The first episode opens on a man telling another that he has been a police officer all along and has had him caught for some time. Then it turns to the deal. On the phone, men who call each other brother discuss a shipment of cocaine from the border, and before the end someone else has heard that Cristian and Alexander have cocaine on the way.

Apart from the title, the episode’s description says only Series Venezolanas (Venezuelan series), and the talk is thick with slang: mano (short for hermano, brother) and vaina (thing) both come up more than once. DesdeCua calls its channel humour and reflection, but nobody hands down a lesson in this first episode. It is the biggest commitment here, with the most episodes and the longest, so start somewhere smaller.

DesdeCua kept going: ShortFlix lists 21 episodes of Amigos o Enemigos 2 and 17 of the third season, which began in January 2026.

How we picked

Every series here was made in Spanish by the channel that posts it, and no two come from the same channel. We left out dubbed versions, series made with AI, teasers, re-uploads, clips of TV telenovelas and anything that is not scripted drama, as well as Canal 13, which our creators guide covers. We read each first episode’s captions in Spanish. We did not count views. Episodes play from each creator’s own YouTube channel.
