What the micro-drama apps give away on YouTube

DramaBox posts 66 episodes of an heiress’s summer job. Quick TV stops every series at episode 11.

Ingrid Voss has trained her whole life to take over the family empire, but her father says he has raised a spoiled heiress who cannot live without her butler. His test: a summer as a ball girl at the country club, and nobody may find out she is a Voss. If she quits, gets fired or is found out, Cousin Greg inherits everything. “Only teenagers are ball girls,” she says, and before the first episode of Serve Me! Ball Girl Heiress is over, someone calls her the oldest ball girl they have ever seen.

Serve Me! comes from DramaBox, one of the apps that sell micro-dramas, series told in one- or two-minute episodes, through in-app purchases and subscriptions. On YouTube they give away anything from Mango TV’s whole series to Quick TV’s first 11 episodes.

Here are six app studios on ShortFlix, long runs first, short ones last. We kept studios whose uploads are episodes of scripted series, which leaves out STAGE’s Rajasthani channel: its 14 uploads of Daam are promos, among them a two-day countdown and an interview with a newspaper journalist.

DramaBox

English · 19 series on ShortFlix · start with Serve Me! Ball Girl Heiress · 66 episodes, one to two and a half minutes each · from 25 December 2025

DramaBox’s YouTube channel has grown more generous. The app launched in April 2023; Dianzhong Technology in Beijing built it, and StoryMatrix, its subsidiary in Singapore, owns it. Older series stop at 12 to 15 episodes, and the last upload of One Fateful Night with My Boss (June 2024) sends you to the app. The 15 series from November and December 2025 have 49 to 66 episodes each.

Serve Me! is one of them, and it borrows the set-up of Billy Madison (1995): an heir must get through something meant for kids, or a rival inherits the family business. The first episode closes on three digs at Ingrid’s age. If that joke works, 65 more episodes are waiting. If you need an ending, the playlist is labelled FULL, but no episode is billed as the last.

Mango TV, a Chinese state streaming service controlled by Hunan Broadcasting System, gives away whole series more plainly than anyone here: the 18th episode of My Summer Sweetheart is billed as the grand finale. The catch is length: Beneath the Contract’s episodes run to almost 14 minutes.

My Summer Sweetheart has the premise of Overboard (1987): a rich woman who has been bossing a working man around loses her memory and ends up in his house. Zhu Jinhao (Zhong Xiaoqi) is buying an island, and Lin Qingyi (Chen Ruifeng) lives there and will not sell. In episode 1, cup after cup of coffee is called rubbish, though the beans cost close to a month’s rent, and an employee who says sorry to Boss Zhu loses this month’s bonus, again. By episode 8, the titles say, she is applying to be a barista. Start here if you want an ending; skip it if you want two-minute episodes.

Kuku TV

Hindi · 2 series on ShortFlix · start with Cursed Daughter · 55 episodes, most of them one to two minutes · from 25 March 2025

Kuku TV posts a long run with almost nothing written about it: nearly every episode of Cursed Daughter is described only by its number. Kuku FM, an Indian audio startup, launched it in 2025; in March 2026 the former India cricket captain MS Dhoni invested in Kuku FM and became Kuku TV’s brand ambassador.

Cursed Daughter starts in the middle. A young woman searches a room for the truth behind a diary, a voice warns her that she will pay for it, and she is told never to take on a dark power head-on. Then she takes us back: it began when she walked into a house, hungry and looking for food. Her name is Isha. That is the whole 78-second first episode, with the set-up in its last line. If you like a supernatural story told in flashback, go in blind; if you want a map before 55 episodes, skip it.

Nearly every upload here links to the CandyJar website in its description. CandyJar is Inkitt’s video app, free to download with coins for sale, and on YouTube it posts clips, compilations and the start of four series: The Arranged Marriage, Don’t Say Te Amo and Enemies have 11 episodes each, and Beneath the Blue Ice has 12.

The Arranged Marriage shares a premise with Red, White & Royal Blue: the president’s son, a scandal, and a relationship staged for the press. Here it is a marriage, and the other half is his rival at law school. Alexander Pierce has skipped mock trial yet again, and he mocks the public-defender act of Julia Winters; she says it is not an act. It stops at episode 11: rivals-to-lovers fans will follow the link, and anyone who hates an unfinished story should skip it.

Eleven episodes, every time, and the 11th lasts 40 seconds or less: that holds for all 25 Quick TV series on ShortFlix, so treat it as a sample of ten. Quick TV belongs to ShareChat and Moj, the Indian social media company.

Mere Anmol Ratan (My Priceless Jewel) is about a mother who will not stop working. In episode 1 a man calls her an old woman and threatens to throw her into the bin like rubbish. Her son Naman asks why she does such a small job in secret; no work is small, she answers, and she raised her three children by working. So he makes her manager of his Bandra office and restaurant, with a card that opens every floor. There a worker wonders whether this cleaner is the boss’s mother, and Sheetal, who runs the place, scoffs. The premise is The Billionaire Cleaner’s, from our October picks, turned around: there a rich man poses as a cleaner, and here the woman the staff take for a cleaner really is the boss’s mother. Episode 11 runs 19 seconds; for the rest, you need the app.

DashReels

Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam · 21 series on ShortFlix

Turbo Giri in Kannada and Turbo Aashaan in Malayalam both open on Dev Rana, a champion racer who skips a final in Europe, and their episodes match almost to the second. So do Ariyaasanam in Tamil and Maha Mantrivarya in Telugu, a palace story both channels posted on 15 September. Each pair is one production in two languages; we could not tell which came first, so none is a pick.

DashReels is the app of Dashverse, founded in Bengaluru in 2023, which MediaBrief calls an AI entertainment company. Its series run 11 to 20 episodes. Harano Sindoor, from the Bangla channel, was in our October picks, and its first episode ends like those of the four above, asking you to subscribe for what happens next.

For an ending, start with Mango TV; for a long free run, DramaBox; to sample an app before paying, The Arranged Marriage or Mere Anmol Ratan. Mango TV’s channel promises new uploads every day, and CandyJar’s app listing promises new episodes every week.

How we picked

We kept app studios whose uploads are episodes of scripted series. Besides STAGE, that left out MX Fatafat, whose uploaded scenes send you to the full drama on Amazon MX Player. Bullet’s one series here, Tera Ghar Mera Ghar, was in our October picks. Each series we start with is neither dubbed nor made with AI, and we read its first episode. We did not count views. Episodes play from each studio’s own YouTube channel.
